Ceramic coating is not just about shine. A properly prepared surface becomes easier to maintain, more resistant to contamination and far more hydrophobic when the correct top layer is used.
The base protects. The top surface changes how the car behaves.
Crystal Serum provides the long-term ceramic base. EXOv5 adds the slick, highly hydrophobic surface that changes water and dirt release. That is why different coating combinations produce different results.
10H does not mean scratch-proof. Ceramic coating improves surface resistance; it does not stop stone chips or deep scratches.

This is the part that makes the science real. EXOv5 is designed to create a very hydrophobic top surface, helping water bead tightly and move off the panel more readily.
The coating only looks as good as the finish underneath it.
Ceramic coating will not hide swirls, haze or poor preparation. We inspect the paint first, remove contamination and refine the finish where required before protection is applied.

It can make a lot of sense for owners who want easier maintenance and long-term paint protection from the start. New paint is still inspected and prepared before coating.
Does ceramic coating stop scratches and stone chips?
No. Ceramic coating improves surface resistance but does not make paint scratch-proof and does not stop stone chips.
What is the difference between CSL and CSU?
Crystal Serum Light is a long-term ceramic base. Crystal Serum Ultra is Gtechniq's professional-only flagship base system.
What does EXOv5 do?
EXOv5 adds the slick, highly hydrophobic top surface for stronger water behaviour and easier maintenance.
Do I need paint correction first?
That depends on paint condition. Ceramic coating will not hide swirl marks or haze, so correction or refinement may be needed first.
